Cuando el receptor GPS es la fuente de referencia para la opción PTP-SYNC, se tiene que instalar un protector externo cercano a la bajada del cable, antes de entrar a la caseta, para evitar las descargas dañinas al equipo PTP 250/300/500. Un solo kit para conexión a tierra física es la alternativa adecuada.

Para el PTP650, se provee un supresor de picos durante la transiente de voltaje, para cada instalación del PTP650 o cualquier equipo de enlace, en el cable de bajada, antes de entrar a la caseta, donde se encuentra instalado el resto del equipo.
